The Alterszentrum Du Lac senior citizens living facility is connected to the St. Moritz Bad Energy Network St. Moritz Bad. But the potential is far from exhausted and St. Moritz Energie is planning to expand its heating network even further.

The construction work on the Du Lac senior citizens centre in St. Moritz is progressing according to plan, not only in terms of construction but also in terms of energy supply. Since October, the new building has been connected to the district heating network by St. Moritz Energie, and PV modules are planned for the roof of the building, which will also make a positive contribution to the overall eco-balance. The heating network uses natural lake heat and is a showcase for the municipality’s innovative culture.

The senior citizens centre is the 18th user unit to utilise thermal energy from Lake St. Moritz to cover its heating requirements. In addition to the thermal connection, a conventional heating system is also planned in view of the planned expansion of the energy network into Via Salet and Via Giovanni Segantini.

Interest in expanding the heating network is great – and it also makes sense for ecological and economic reasons: in today’s world, where the environmental impact of fossil fuels is becoming increasingly important, many oil heating systems can no longer be replaced, and property managers are looking for alternative solutions. It is also expected that the price of fossil fuels will continue to rise.
