Rates & Usage Charges

An overview of current St. Moritz Energie network usage charges and energy prices.

The St. Moritz Energie electricity price is broken down into three parts:

  • Energy fee – Cost for electricity generation

  • Network fee – Cost for electricity transmission

  • Government taxes

The respective proportions of the price composition vary in size depending on electricity consumption and place of residence.

For small consumers who do not have the possibility of choosing a specific electricity supplier, ElCom reviews electricity rates – i.e., the entire electricity rate. Since 2009, large consumers with annual consumption of more than 100 MWh have been free to choose their preferred electricity supplier. However, in this case, the electricity rate is no longer reviewed by ElCom because the consumer has the freedom to switch providers. ElCom still reviews the network usage charges from all providers.
